Zimmer Group reaffirms its social commitment
Donations to regional and international aid projects
At the end of 2023, Zimmer Group, an international company headquartered in Rheinau, once again lived up to its social responsibility: the family-run company regularly makes contributions in the form of donations to various charitable organizations that do good both in its home region and worldwide.
As part of its ongoing social commitment, Zimmer Group has made a financial contribution to the endowment capital of the Rheinau Community Foundation and provided targeted donations for special projects. These projects provide direct support for people in need in the local area. Siegfried Koch, Chairman of the Foundation, praised the commitment and appreciated Zimmer Group as a responsible company for the region: "Zimmer Group has been continuously supporting our work with its donations since the foundation of our community foundation. The most recent example in the past year was the upgrading of the playground at the elementary school in Freistett with playground equipment."
The great commitment to the Rheinau region is also reflected in the financial support provided to the Rheinau refugee support group, which has over 30 volunteers helping refugees from various countries of origin. This example of humanity in action shows how corporate values and charitable commitment can go hand in hand to promote an inclusive and helpful society.
Education and youth development are particularly close to Zimmer Group's heart. For this reason, a special project has been planned for the Diersheim kindergarten. By sponsoring forest days at the Naturlandstiftung Baden in Bodersweier, children are given direct contact with nature under the guidance of an experienced nature educator. This project is part of the company's efforts to support education and sustainability.
Zimmer Group is also involved at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and donated several robotic components last year, including tool changers and energy elements. In 2022, four laboratory robots were equipped with the changing systems, which are used at the Work-Life Robotics Institute (WLRI). The donation in kind helps the students to act flexibly in their research projects and carry out various applications with the robot.
The company is also looking beyond local borders by supporting Andheri -Freundeskreis e.V. - an organization dedicated to the work of the "Helpers of Mary". The latest donation supported the children's home in Vadtal, India, which strengthens the right to education and vocational training for girls and women regardless of their religious denomination.
Zimmer Group's commitment reflects its deep connection to its home region and its understanding of global responsibility. The company invites its customers, partners and the general public to be inspired by this message and to actively shape positive coexistence.
